The Elite Road Warrior Six Energy Habits to Master the Business Travel Life eBook Bryan Paul Buckley Reviews

  • First off my favorite part of the whole book is how it tells you how long it will take you to read each chapter. Man I wish every book did this! It is so helpful when you only have twenty minutes and you are particular about getting through a complete chapter before you stop. I also love the bullet points and action items at the end to help recap.

Overall it was a fantastic read. Bryan's humor is kind of like a 7th grade boy - which cracks me up and you can tell he doesn't take himself too seriously. As a female I felt like most of the stories were geared towards men with lots of sports analogies. But I also understand that the vast majority of road warriors percent wise is men - so I get it.

The concepts overall are basic - things we all should know and should be doing but years on the road kind of saps the "know how's" out of your brain and in seeps the "easy way out". This is a great reminder of the ways you can CHOOSE to win on the road. If you implement these strategies in the book you will kill it in every area of your life.

Quick and easy read that any business traveler would find entertaining and helpful. 5 stars from me.
  • If you travel for a living, The Elite Road Warrior is your way back to health, higher levels of energy and productivity.

I found this book to be an easy read. It's presented in steps to guide the road weary traveler to incrementally improve their health, relationships with their family and up their work game while taking on the challenges of living on the road.

There's simple, effective, realistic guidance in every chapter. I really liked how each section tells you how long it will take to read, which is pretty smart, so even the busiest traveler can read gauge how much time they have to read in between airports, meetings and client events.

After reading this book I realize there really are No More Excuses to not become an Elite Road Warrior. Read this book and start implementing today. Your health, your family and your career will thank you.
  • Loved the book. As a frequent traveler who does not fare well on the road, Bryan provided me with some great suggestions for both physical and mental principles to being more healthy on the road.

My favorite suggestion is to “stay moving” throughout the day, and not wait for a workout that may never happen. Take the stairs, take walks, and take mental breaks on a regular basis so that you can bank benefits incrementally.

I’m at a conference as I write this. I’m a big guy (6’2” 290 lbs) who’s recovering from 2 Achilles surgeries and looking to right-size. Yesterday, following the books suggestion, I climbed the stairs of my 8-story hotel 9 times throughout the day for a total of 72 stairs and 1,100 calories burned (at my weight). Combining that with his suggestions for healthy eating and drinking lots of water, I feel like I had a chance to put the books principles to work fairly quickly.

All of us know that the key to success will be to continue this beyond the first week, and Bryan has some good suggestions for that as well. Thanks Bryan, and 5-stars from me.
  • Bryan Buckley has definitely "been there". HIs thoughts and ideas regarding how to be your best while traveling is inspiring, doable, and it works! I have been a road warrior for 39 years and I can honestly say, with all of the experience I have, both good and not so good, that if you follow Brian's lead you will be amazed at the results. Now YOU can be the one with the energy, stamina, and attitude to have your "best trip" every time, not losing touch with those you care most about, and arrive home feeling good physically and mentally, and not miss a beat.
  • I spent 80 of 100 days on the road at the end of 2018 and connect deeply with the challenges and solutions Bryan Buckley discusses in The Elite Road Warrior. But truth be told, being in the office when not traveling can be just as exhausting. Either way, this book will benefit the high performer.

Be warned you will not be able to casually skim this book without feeling compelled to act.

Bryan makes implementation easy and practical. You won’t be overwhelmed with things that you could never do. And that’s what I appreciate most about The Elite Road Warrior anybody can quickly improve their energy levels simply by focusing on their energy habits each and every day, whether at home or on the road.
  • As someone who flies 100 or more flights a year, I know the stress of travel and how the ‘fun’ begins to wear on you. Bryan ‘s ideas are well thought out and extremely helpful, and he backs them up with fun quotes and statistics. Taking care of yourself doesn’t need to be hard, no matter how much you travel, and the easy to follow checklists and strategies in this book are presented in a fun and easy to follow manner. These ideas relevant for the most casual or hardened business traveler. Take the ideas in this book seriously and your life will be better for it.

One thing I would like to see discussed is meditation - it has been extremely transformative for me and would be a great addition to anyone’s routine at home or on the road.
  • For years I burned the candle at both ends and in the back of my mind worried it would eventually catch up with me. This book manages to interweave the key mental and physical energy principles behind having both ‘hustle AND health’ with simple, manageable habits anyone can start doing today.

The author’s enthusiasm makes it very easy and enjoyable to both read and incorporate in a rush rush world.

A must read for anyone who’s driven to succeed and doesn’t want to sacrifice their health and happiness.
